Do I Need An Anti-Virus
Program?
In short, YES. Without it you are just asking for trouble.
There is more than just Viruses to be concerned about too. Now there is Spyware, Malware, Adware, etc.
Some anti-virus programs act like viruses them selves because they are so big and cumbersome that they bog down the machine and make it run slow.
The more secure you want your computer the slower it may run. It's all about finding the right balance for you and your computer use habits.
Virus writers are getting sneakier and sneakier at disguising their malicious code. So you do need something. Ultimately it comes down to how and
what you use your computer and home broadband for. As long as you have a good
firewall, good virus and spyware protection and stay away from questionable or illegal download sites you greatly
reduce your chances of getting an infection with out giving up too much speed. The Anti-Virus program I
would recommend is Eset's Nod32 Antivirus. I recommend this one because it does not bog down your machine like many of the others do and it just works, unlike some of the others out there.
